Suck it Jero! Suck it long and hard! |

We’re screwed basically. Everyone has to of known this for quite some time. Everyone is signed to bad, long term deals. The effects of Chiarelli’s mismanagement will be felt for a long time. I just hope we can rid ourselves of Lucic somehow before the next expansion draft. We can’t protect his useless ass and lose another good piece because of it. |

If only the Oilers at some point had drafted a really talented, Hart trophy level LW. |

How is the lineup this bad with all the high picks yall have had? God Chia really left his mark
That Marody trade with the Flyers may end up being a steal for yall. I think he has some top 6 upside |

There’s no way you can start the season with that forward group. Holland has to improve that lineup somehow. I feel bad for Nuge if he has to drag those two around the ice.
I’m betting things will look much improved by the time the season starts. |

Well technically a team can always ask the player to waive his no move for the expansion draft and also I remember reading somewhere before that Lucics deal becomes a buyout option after this season. Mind you it still isn't a very good buyout until a couple seasons from now. |

This shopping list blog concept (and even the title) seems very popular on HB right now. |

Pass. I'd rather we have gotten a 2nd from in this recent draft. |

Jeff Carter and Ilya Kovalchuk for Milan Lucic, Kris Russel, Edmonton's 2020 1st round pick (not lottery protected), and a 2021 2nd.
Solves your 3C and top six wing issue, at least in the short term while dumping 2 bad contracts. Kings could retain salary on Kovalchuk's contract to make the cap hits equal. |

It’s pretty much buyout proof. It doesn’t offer us any significant savings if we buy him out at any time |

Also saves Edmonton from having to waste an expansion draft protection slot on Lucic. |

Make the 1st top-3 protected (cond. if we win the lottery then you get 2021 no prot.) and make the 2nd a 3rd and I'd go for it. |

Kovlachuk would never waive to come here and Carter would retire. |

Truly pathetic! This guy should have been in the AHL all along. What a waste of another high pick. |

We're all aware that the player doesn't absolutely NEED to be protected, right? They can ask him "(H)ey, you won't be taken anyway so why not just waive? You've said you want to leave for 3 years now. If by some miracle you get picked, you move closer to your hometown to a team that'll actually play you". Seems unlikely he wouldn't waive to me. |
